Ultrashort pulsed lasers (USP) with pulse durations in the ps and fs range have been described by many as the tool of the future wherever high precision plays an essential role. Such applications range from drilling of nozzles and the manufacture of tools via structuring solar cells and the manufacture of medicaltechnical components all the way to printing technology and the processing of fiber-composite components in lightweight construction. And with the highest quality. At the Focus Seminar, the basic aspects of USP technology will be presented. Furthermore, the application perspectives will be explained.
